Procurement Policy
This policy applies to all wood purchased by St. Marys Paper Corp. from
wood suppliers in Canada and the United States, including wood produced
by Company managed woodlands operations.

St. Marys Paper
will encourage and promote the best use of the forest resources from
all wood suppliers and the implementation of sustainable forestry
practices.

All wood suppliers
will enter into a wood purchase contract with St. Marys Paper.

The source of all
purchased wood will be confirmed by St. Marys Paper procurement
staff prior to purchase to ensure the legality of the wood

Wood suppliers will
be competent, reputable, legal businesses and will maintain a safe
and healthy workplace.

St. Marys Paper
will not purchase wood fibre from the following sources;
o
Genetically modified trees,
o
Illegally harvested
timber,
o
Sources where
traditional or civil rights are violated,
o
Endangered Forests, and
o
Parks and Protected
Areas

St. Marys Paper
will favour certified fibre suppliers and will encourage all
suppliers to pursue forest certification of their practices.
St. Marys Paper will monitor, adapt and continually improve forest
management practices and validate them against recognized standards.
