St. Marys Paper Corp. takes a lead role in promoting a broad public understanding of forest management activities through the Algoma Forest Coalition (AFC). The AFC is comprised of forest industry compnaies in Sault Ste Marie and the Algoma District. The AFC has a mandate to provide information about forest management, promote careers in resource management and ensure that people are aware of the economic importance of the forest industry in Northern Ontario. This includes forestry field trips, school presentations, interaction with various stakeholders, and sponsoring educational programs such as Envirothon. The company also supports Forest Focus, a cooperative local television program created in conjunction with Provincial and Federal agencies.
